Counter-current regeneration
Counter-current regeneration is an advanced technology used in the Eagle Platinum duo water conditioner. This optimizes the cleaning of ion exchange resin, an essential component of water conditioners. The resin is made up of small beads loaded with sodium. It removes minerals responsible for water hardness, such as calcium and magnesium, by exchanging these ions for sodium ions.
Unlike traditional systems, counter-current regeneration cleans the resin by circulating brine water through the resin already used. This allows hardness ions to be effectively removed through the drain without touching the still unused resin. This technology saves salt and water while improving the longevity of the resin.
